Solo quizzes and games
When you take a quiz alone or play a game, your answers are processed in your own browser and are not sent to us. They are kept only in this browser tab so you can continue where you left off, and you can clear them at any time.
Couple mode
Couple mode is only used if you choose to compare a quiz with someone, and only after each of you has agreed on screen. Your answers are sent to our server once and stored encrypted until the other person finishes. Their answers are compared with yours as soon as they are sent and are never stored. In that same step your stored answers are erased; only the comparison is kept: how many answers were the same, which questions were answered differently and, for lighter quizzes, the type each person landed on. Neither of you sees the other’s individual answers.
The comparison is deleted 30 days after it was started, or straight away if either of you deletes it [LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED: confirm retention period]. The invite link is secret, works once and expires after 7 days; a new invite makes the old one stop working. On your device we remember your private link to the comparison so you can come back to it; deleting the comparison, or choosing to forget it, removes it.
To stop misuse, when a comparison is created or opened we briefly keep a one-way, keyed hash of the network address the request came from, together with a counter. It cannot be turned back into the address and is deleted within a day. We keep daily totals of how many comparisons are started, joined and completed, without any identifiers.
Counting visits
We count how often quizzes are started and finished using simple daily totals. No cookies, no identifiers and no IP addresses are stored for this.
Giving your e-mail address is always optional. If you subscribe, we keep your address and the date you agreed, and every e-mail contains an unsubscribe link.
